Ben Sprague's Vision For Bangor

With the upcoming election in the city of Bangor less than a week away, I would like to express my support for one candidate in particular who has a concrete vision in regards to moving the City of Bangor forward.

When I first met and sat down with Ben Sprague just about 2 months ago, I was immediately moved by his energy, motivation and enthusiasm. Ben asked me a simple question. "What are your concerns about the City of Bangor Anne?" Then he just sat there and listened. Ben was attentive, unassuming and humble, and I could tell that he truly cared about the issues I was concerned about.

Ben's Background

Ben was born and raised in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School. He then went on to further his education, graduating from Harvard with a financial degree. Ben has also been an English and Math teacher, and worked for the Boston Red Sox for 3 years. Ben returned to Bangor and is now a financial planner with Ameriprise Financial.

Ben's Vision For Bangor And What He Stands For

Ben vision is realistic and concise. He stands for issues that affect every one of the residents of our beautiful city.

• Better, permanent paying jobs for the residents of Bangor.
• Developing Bangor's "Brand" as a part of Asset-Based economic development, in order to attract interest and spending from away.
• Moving Bangor from a Serviced based economy to a Growth-oriented economy
• Promoting schools in order to draw more families and businesses to the area, which in turn will boost Bangor's economy.
• Transparency and Energy in Government by facilitating partnerships among the council, citizens and businesses of our city.

As a small business owner, I have been plagued by many roadblocks and issues due to the current state of the economy. Ben is eager to become more involved in assisting and encouraging entrepreneurs to develop their businesses in our community and to employ the folks living here.

With Ben's business and financial background and expertise, he has the sense to sort through the complicated financial variables that the residents of Bangor are plagued with.

Ben Sprague is authentic. He listens...and he is eager to bring new vibrancy to City Hall.
